Ways we Serve in the Community

Sunrise Christian Food Ministry (Food Closet)
Located on our campus, the food closet provides food to those in need in our community. Though supported by about 30 local churches, volunteers are always needed.

Loaves and Fishes
Members of Advent help prepare and serve lunch on the months with a 5th Saturday.

St John's Shelter for Women and Children
A group from Advent helps with a meal the 4th Monday of each month.

Making our Friendship Hall available to Recovery Groups
AA groups meet here 
  • Mondays: 6 & 8 pm 
  • Tuesdays: 12 pm 
  • Wednesdays: 10 am 
  • Thursdays: 8 pm.
Park Oaks Neighborhood Association (PONA)
Neighbors from the area of the church meets monthly on the 3rd Thursday at 7:00 pm.  Speakers from the City and issues affecting the group are featured.

Boy Scouts
Meet every Tuesday evening at 7:00 pm in the Friendship Hall.

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly)
Meets in the Friendship Hall on Thursdays from 9:00 - 11:00 am

Meets on the 1st and 3rd Mondays at 9:30 am. All are welcome to help cut, tie and otherwise contribute to making quilts for Habitat for Humanity, Loaves & Fishes and Women's Empowerment.
